ICIN's 4th Annual General Meeting 2025

Over 50 people from 13 member organisations attended ICIN's 4th Annual General Meeting on beautiful Miwatj country at Gulkula, East Arnhem land (and online).

Held each year, the AGM is an opportunity for full members to elect directors, receive the audited financial statements and hear an update of the network's progress against the goals of the strategic plan.

Full members of ICIN are all Indigenous land and sea management organisations that own and manage registered carbon projects on their country, including savanna fire management and vegetation restoration projects.

The network would like to congratulate newly elected director Tristin Maroney and our re-elected directors Suzanne Thompson, Teddy Bernard and Sarah Parriman. Alongside current directors Dr Dean Yibarbuk, Cissy Gore-Birch OAM and Cathy Goonack, the network will be guided into the future with strong cultural governance and strategic outlook.

Being newly elected, Tristin Maroney will be joining the ICIN board as the current ranger coordinator for Jawoyn rangers, having nearly a decade of experience working for Jawoyn association and also a current director for Arnhem Land Fire Abatement (ALFA). ICIN welcomes his expertise, and look forward to having Tristin as a part of the leadership team to help guide an active and innovative Indigenous carbon industry.

ICIN invests in strong governance to ensure that the network remains driven by its members, including 23 Indigenous land and sea organisations that own carbon projects as well as 9 associate member Indigenous land and sea organisations.

After a huge year of growth in 2025, now with a team of 6 staff supporting 23 full member plus 9 associate member organisations, the network is looking forward to an exciting year in 2026.

We wish to thank the Gumatj clan, ALFA NT, and the ILSC for enabling this meeting to be held on country.

Below you can find a brief of our annual report, this shares more information on the year that has passed, reflections from our co-chairs and some of the inspiring work of the network.
