The Indigenous Carbon Industry Network is proud to be hosting this important forum. Given the rapid pace of carbon policy and carbon market reform, it is more important than ever that Indigenous carbon industry members stay ahead of the game.
Following the resounding success of the sold-out Indigenous-led North Australia Savanna Fire Forum in February this year, the National Forum is expected to receive an unprecedented level of national interest. This is your chance to reach 500 Indigenous land and sea managers, corporate and government representatives from across Australia to discuss issues impacting the Indigenous carbon industry and barriers to participation of Indigenous groups in the carbon industry.
The forum will take the following format:
Day One (16 May), Indigenous only forum will be limited to First Nations people, ICIN member organisations and Indigenous organisations in person only. It provides a safe space for discussion of issues facing Indigenous landholders in the carbon industry and the Indigenous carbon industry as a whole.
Day Two (17 May), Plenary will be a hybrid event to provide space for a showcase of Indigenous carbon projects and important discussions with corporates and governments about key policy issues impacting the industry.
Day Three (18 May), Workshops and Plenaries will provide space for focused workshops on specific issues. The event will provide plenty of space for networking and relationship-building, a key focus of the ICIN.
