Arnhem Land Rangers gather at ALFA NT 2021 Pre-Season fire meeting

ICIN's Anna Boustead presenting at ALFA NT's Pre-Season Fire Meeting in Maningrida

Last Friday (9 April), 100 rangers from across Arnhem Land gathered in Maningrida to attend Arnhem Land Fire Abatement (ALFA NT)'s Pre-Season Fire Meeting.

In order to prepare for the upcoming Savanna Fire Season, a number of ranger groups shared their fire management plans for the upcoming season, discussed the protection of cultural heritage using savanna burning methods, and how to partner and share data to better manage the fire season.

Indigenous Carbon Industry Network's Coordinator, Anna Boustead, was invited to attend ALFA NT's Pre-Season fire meeting. Anna provided an overview of recent developments in the Carbon Industry, provided attendees with an overview of ICIN's upcoming Governance Review process, and spoke about the different ways of how ICIN's member organisations can participate in the network.

Thank you to ALFA NT for allowing ICIN to participate in the Pre-Season fire meeting, and thank you to the Bawinanga Rangers, for hosting the event.
