Communications Officer joins Indigenous Carbon Industry Network

Benjamin Gertz

The team at the Indigenous Carbon Industry Network has recently expanded, with the addition of a new Communications Officer who will help to assist in developing communications material for the network, and who will help to improve ICIN's outreach to our members and broader community.

Benjamin Gertz started with ICIN in February as our new Communications Officer, and brings a wealth of professional experience ranging from public policy, community engagement, and communications. He has previously worked as a Policy Advisor in the Queensland Government, as the Queensland Field Leader for the former RECOGNISE campaign, and as a Policy and Communications Coordinator for the Myuma Group.

Benjamin is a descendant of the Gugu-Badhun and Ngadjon-ji people of Northern Queensland, and a descendant of the Meriam people of the Eastern Torres Strait. He was born and raised in Townsville (where he is also currently based), and is passionate about issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, as well as issues affecting communities across Northern Australia.

We are very pleased to welcome Benjamin to the ICIN team!

Benjamin can be contacted via email at [email protected] or via phone on 0499 882 113.
