Government releases timeline for consultation on new Savanna Fire Management (SFM) methods

The Government's Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) has sent a timeline for the process for releasing the new Savanna Fire Management methods.

According to the table below, DCCEEW plan to release the exposure drafts of both methods in mid-August and start the official consultation between October and December 2025.

To help ICIN members to go through the methods and give feedback to Government, ICIN will be developing plain-English materials and running workshops from August to late in the year.

ICIN will update members as soon as we hear anything else from Government.
