The annual IDA Conference is the largest gathering of desert rangers in Australia. At the conference, we focus on strengthening the alliance, yarning about matters of regional importance, sharing information and most importantly, connecting with each other.

Nominations are open for the inaugural IDA Awards. The IDA Awards celebrate and recognise the outstanding achievements of rangers across the desert and their commitment to looking after country.

Award recipients will be announced at the 2022 IDA Conference during a special evening celebration.

Award categories include:

• Emerging Male Ranger of the Year – open to any male Ranger aged under 23
• Emerging Female Ranger of the Year – open to any female Ranger aged under 23
• Male Ranger of the Year – open to any male Ranger aged 23-44
• Female Ranger of the Year – open to any female Ranger aged 23-44
• Senior Male Ranger of the Year – open to any male Ranger aged 45 and over
• Senior Female Ranger of the Year – open to any female Ranger aged 45 and over
• Ranger Coordinator of the Year – open to any Ranger or IPA Coordinator currently employed
