ICIN Co-Chair, Dr Dean Yibarbuk, receives Honourary Doctorate of Letters from Charles Darwin University
Indigenous Carbon Industry Network Co-Chair, Dr Dean Yibarbuk, has received an Honourary Doctorate of Letters from Charles Darwin University for his environmental leadership, specifically his lifelong dedication to land conservation and management in west Arnhem Land and beyond.

The ceremony was held on Dr Yibarbuk's Country in Maningrida, and attended by his family members, colleagues and representatives from Charles Darwin University. The ceremony was an interesting mix of university rituals and robes worn in the hot sun together with Bininj families and culture, all set to a beautiful backdrop at Djinkarr. There was even orchestral music!

First Nature Repair Market method is now available
The first method for the Nature Repair Market scheme is now available, it is the replanting native forest and woodland ecosystem method. This method enhances biodiversity in native species by replanting native forest and woodland ecosystems in previously cleared landscapes. Read more about it:

Updates to the Reforestation by Environmental or Mallee Plantings 2024 method
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) have made updates to the Reforestation by Environmental or Mallee Plantings 2024 method. Changes include:
  • Correction of an unintended omission of detail from the EP 2024 method regarding spacing for block plantings.
  • Updating the guidelines to direct users to a new website location for the FullCAM 2020 Public Release (PR) tool.
  • Correction of equation numbers referred to in Table 5 of the Guidelines.

The Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee (ERAC) is reviewing the soil carbon method - seeking submissions

ERAC is seeking submissions to inform a review of the Soil Carbon Method. This review will assess the compliance of the method with the Offset Integrity Standards, as well as factors such as current and likely future project uptake, abatement potential, additional activities and measurement approaches. Feedback received through this consultation process will also inform the development of the proposed Integrated Farm and Land Management Method. Have your say by 11th April 2025:
