About Ngadju Native Title Aboriginal Corporation

Ngadju Native Title Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (NNTAC) is committed to developing an appreciation and respect for Ngadju culture by raising awareness, recognising and celebrating First Nations people.

The Federal Court of Australia granted native title to the Ngadju people on 21 November 2014 and 17 July 2017. The Ngadju people’s traditional ownership of 102,000 km² of land surrounding the town of Norseman was recognised, including exclusive native title rights to 41,300 km².

Ngadju Country expands the pristine woodland forests between Kalgoorlie and Esperance. In 2020, the Ngadju Indigenous Protected Area was dedicated on Ngadju land, covering 43,993.01 km², about a quarter of the Great Western Woodlands.

Ngadju Native Title Aboriginal Corporation Ranger Program:

The Ngadju Bunna Ranger Program supports Ngadju people to reconnect with Country, learn from Elders, and pass on knowledge to the next generation. It creates opportunities for employment, training and skills development.

Rangers work to keep Country strong and healthy. They operate across a vast and culturally significant landscape, managing everything from salt lakes and granite outcrops to old-growth woodlands. The Ngadju Indigenous Protected Area forms part of the largest intact temperate woodland left on Earth, supporting 30% of Australia’s Eucalyptus species and serving as a refuge for endangered birds and mammals.
