That's a wrap on another successful fire forum, held on Larrakia Country, with attendees from 110 different organisations, with all states and territories represented and an international contingent from Brazil, Botswana and Zambia. We would like to thank the ICIN Members and the Board for their leadership, the forum working group members for their support in program development, the 85 expert speakers, the 20 valued sponsors and attendees - all 500 of them. This was our largest forum yet, see the impressive numbers below.
We seek to improve this event each year and value your feedback. This online survey has 12 questions and will take mere minutes to complete. We thank the 50 people who have already contributed feedback to improve future ICIN events.

Forum Final Statement published on the ICIN website
A statement was developed with ICIN members based on themes highlighted during the event. This statement was distributed to media, presented by MC Cissy Gore-Birch at the Forum's closing (pictured above) and published on our website. Central to this document is a recognition that the savanna fire management space is an Indigenous-led space, as Indigenous people have been using fire to manage Country for tens of thousands of years. The statement highlights the importance of prioritising Indigenous rights and interests to carbon (Indigenous people hold rights and interests to over 70% of land and 66% of the coastline across Australia) and that carbon projects must be formed on the principles of free, prior and informed consent (FPIC).
