The Dambimangari people are the traditional custodians of over 1.6 million hectares of land along the Kimberley coast, stretching from just south of Yampi to the Prince Regent River. Native Title for the Dambimangari people was determined by consent in 2011, including exclusive and non-exclusive native title over Dambimangari land and sea country.
The Dambimangari fire project is part of the North Kimberly Fire Abatement Project (NKFAP) which is facilitated by the Kimberly Land Council.
