Winner - Fire Forum Electric Motorbike Giveaway

ICIN was pleased to partner with UBCO Electric Utility Vehicles on an exciting giveaway at the recent 7th annual North Australia Savanna Fire Forum - a 2X2 Adventure e-Bike worth an impressive $8000.

To apply, Indigenous organisations with a registered carbon project who were attending the Fire Forum, submitted a video answering the following questions:

  • What does managing fire mean to you and your organisation?

  • What are you most excited about with the upcoming 7th North Australia Savanna Fire Forum?

Thank you to all of the excellent entries ICIN received, please view a selection of them here, all of which have been published with permission from the creators and participants:

Following an independent judging process, the winning entry was decided: Wunambal Gaambera Aboriginal Corporation, with the video filmed and edited by Jazzlyn Phillips.

ICIN was pleased to partner with UBCO on this exciting giveaway as this electric motorbike requires no unleaded fuel, generates no emissions and reduces the carbon footprint of the operations and management of a carbon project.

In Queensland's Cape York Peninsula, ICIN member the Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council uses UBCO electric motorbikes as they support rangers with caring for Country work, enable faster patrols across rugged terrain and reduce negative impacts on the environment.

Getting the electric motorbike from Darwin to Wunambal Gaambera Country involved an 830 kilometre truck journey to Kununurra followed by a one hour plane (pictured below) to Mitchell Plateau.
