2024 Savanna Fire Forum | MC, venue reveal and sponsor announcements

We are delighted to update you on planning and preparation for the hugely anticipated 2024 North Australia Savanna Fire Forum. It is a privilege to once again host this event in the spirit of supporting knowledge sharing, partnerships and collaboration among savanna fire managers.

Nova Peris OAM announced as Forum MC

We are so pleased to announce Nova Peris OAM (pictured below, centre, with 2023 Forum participants) will once again be the Forum MC in 2024, facilitating the rich Indigenous-led program and guiding us through hot topic sessions and deep dive workshops.

Nova is a born and bred Territorian with many achievements to her name. She is a gold medal winning athlete, becoming the first Aboriginal person to win an Olympic gold medal in 1996. In 1997 Nova was named Young Australian of the Year and also received the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM). In 2013, she was elected to the Australian Senate, becoming the first Aboriginal woman to be elected to the Federal Parliament.

I have so much inspiration from the knowledge sharing, and an immense pride in the deep love everyone showed for sustaining country. It was good to facilitate whilst learning from the deepest knowledge holders and those bringing modern technology to fire management,” said Nova Peris following the 2023 Forum.

2024 venue revealed!

In recognition of the growth of this forum, in 2024 we are moving to a bigger venue at the Darwin Convention Centre. For the past two years, we have been at full capacity at the auditorium at Charles Darwin University, and unfortunately last year we even had to turn people away. This will not be the case in 2024!

We invite all fire managers, Indigenous land managers, carbon industry practitioners, scientists and policy makers to attend the Forum. Don't miss this opportunity to hear latest experiences in savanna fire management practice, fire weather updates and fire science technology supporting and informing the reinvigoration of Indigenous fire management practices.

Tickets will go on sale shortly, stay tuned for details.

We are proud to showcase our sponsors

We are delighted to promote our growing 2024 event sponsors below. This unique Indigenous-led event is made possible with the generous support of our sponsors. A range of sponsorship opportunities are still available for organisations that support our values and purpose. View our prospectus for detailed information. We look forward to partnering with you on this landmark event.
